On your arrival (ideally, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm - or earlier/later by prior arrangement), you are welcome to make tea or coffee and biscuits either in your room or, on summer afternoons, in a quiet corner of our garden ...or in our cosy drawing room with its welcoming log fire on colder days.

Our guest bedrooms have top-of-the-range, king-size beds - either double (zip ’n’ link) or twin - with en-suite loo and luxury shower room.
The house is fully centrally heated and each bedroom is equipped with flat-screen LCD TV and DVD player, broadband wireless internet connection, radio alarm clock, tea/coffee-making facilities with biscuits, hair drier, bathrobes, shaver point (with heated mirrors so you can always see what you’re doing!), a selection of books, magazines, DVDs and other homely touches to make your stay as luxuriously enjoyable as possible.

We regret that smoking is not permitted anywhere in the house.
Children over 12 years old are welcome at the normal tariff (see Tariffs).
By prior arrangement, children younger than 12 years old can usually be accommodated but, with the exception of babies up to two years old (for whom we can provide a comfortable cot at no extra charge), a parent or registered guardian would be expected to share a twin-bedded room with the child at the normal tariff. (see Tariffs).
Dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement at no extra charge. Our cats will make themselves scarce.
However, we do reserve the right to charge at cost for any damage caused by a guest's pet.

Breakfast is, of course, included in your room charge (see Tariffs) and is served (at a time of your choosing but not later than 9.00am on weekdays or 9.30am at weekends and Bank Holidays) in the Conservatory or in the Dining Room - either full English or Continental. Whenever possible, we prefer to buy local and fair trade produce.
To warm up your taste buds, you can choose from:
Freshly-squeezed orange juice, yogurt, or fresh fruit,
a selection of cereals or porridge…
…followed by either Continental breakfast:
Freshly-baked croissants, wholemeal rolls or toast with a selection of
home-made jams, marmalade or honey;
tea or fruit infusions or
coffee – filter, espresso or cappuccino.
…or full English:
Bacon - grilled or fried;
eggs – boiled, poached, scrambled or fried;
a varying selection of grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread, followed by…
freshly-baked croissants or wholemeal rolls or toast with a selection of
home-made jams, marmalade and honey with
tea or fruit infusions, or
coffee – filter, espresso or cappuccino.
…all accompanied by:
a selection of daily/weekend newspapers.
Special dietary requirements:
Please let us know when you make your booking if you have and special dietary requirements. We will do our utmost to meet your needs.
Tea/coffee-making facilities:
Your room is equipped with a kettle and a selection of teas and coffee together with complimentary biscuits. Fresh milk is supplied on your arrival. We do ask guests not to eat ‘take-away’ meals in the bedrooms but, if you prefer to have a ‘take-away’ meal, please feel free to ask for plates and cutlery and to eat in the conservatory or dining room.
Evening meals
Apart from the gastronomic delights of the Michelin-starred restaurant, The Harrow, (almost literally on the doorstep of The White House - well, 200 yards), there are a number of good pubs/restaurants in the area to which, if you prefer not to drink/drive, we can arrange transport to and from (see Transport).
Alternatively, by prior arrangement, we can usually but not always provide a 2-course or 3-course supper ‘en famille’ or privately – whichever you prefer (see Tariffs Evening meals).
We are not licensed to sell alcohol but guests are welcome to bring their own drinks if required or to choose from a selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
