bed and breakfast at the white house

The White House, part of which dates back to early Georgian times (1720), nestles on the edge of the picturesque village of Little Bedwyn in the historic county of Wiltshire (see How to find us and Local Tourist Attractions). Our garden borders onto the towpath at one of the locks of the Kennet & Avon Canal beyond which is the railway line which links London with the West Country.

B and B at The White House

By car, we are only 10 minutes from the town of Hungerford in Berkshire,  20 minutes from Marlborough in Wiltshire and just 5 minutes from Great Bedwyn railway station to which there are regular trains from London.

Heathrow Airport is just 1¼ hours away, Gatwick Airport under 2 hours, Southampton Airport about 1 hour and Bristol Airport just over 1½ hours – from and to all of which we are able to arrange transport if required (see Transport and How to contact us).

Bed and Breakfast at The White House is ideally suited to anyone desiring a 'home away from home'.  Whether you are visiting the area on a sightseeing, walking, cycling or touring holiday, or on business …or a ‘connoisseur’ planning to sample the delights of the acclaimed, Michelin restaurant, The Harrow, (www.harrowinn.co.uk) (which is a mere 200 yards from The White House), you can be sure of a warm welcome, superb comfort and luxurious pampering during your stay with us.

There are also several other restaurants and pubs within a short drive, to suit varying tastes and 'pockets' - and numerous local tourist attractions – including the celebrated Watermill Theatre (www.watermill.org.uk) - in an area that is steeped in ancient history and beautiful countryside.

Quality in Tourism: "Visit Britain's" National Quality Assessment Scheme has awarded The White House a 4-Star Silver Award Bed & Breakfast rating for 2008.
